INSTINCT AND ICE

We live in a world that keeps us in a near-constant state of low-level alarm. Our brains are ancient hardware running modern software, and the mismatch shows up as stress, anxiety, fatigue, and burnout. This is not weakness. It is biology.

The Call of Psyche framework is grounded in evolutionary psychology, behavioural science, and stress physiology. It is not about fixing people or forcing change. Instead, it creates the conditions for understanding how we function when constant stimulation, noise, and artificial urgency are removed. When the nervous system is no longer overwhelmed, recalibration happens naturally. Clarity returns. Perspective widens. Instinct sharpens.

Svalbard provides an environment almost entirely free from the pressures of modern life. There is no performance, no optimisation culture, and no distraction. The high Arctic becomes an arena in which participants can calmly observe how they respond, cognitively, emotionally, and physiologically, when the modern world falls away

Arctic animals are masters of energy management, social cohesion, cooperation, and survival under extreme conditions. By observing their behaviours, participants gain insight into their own animal nature. Stress responses are reframed as evolutionary tools rather than personal failures. Discomfort is understood rather than avoided. Most importantly, the expedition reinforces a fundamental biological truth: humans are not designed to face challenges alone.

This collaboration brings together Natural World Safaris’ unrivalled access to the high Arctic and decades of operational experience in Svalbard, with Megan Hine’s background in expedition leadership, survival psychology, and human performance under pressure.

This is a small-group expedition limited to twelve women over eleven days in the high Arctic.

This is not a retreat. It is not therapy. It is not about pushing limits. It is a grounded, practical masterclass in human nature, delivered through real expedition experience.
